Which is a kind of ironic title, since I read so much when I was a child that has affected the way I speak. (In a positive way, might I add.) But life now seems to be so much more busy with stuff. And books are getting easier to obtain, with the rise of e-readers and e-books.
And so many more people trying their hand at writing.
It is a known historical trope that a thousand years ago, a large private library could quite reasonably consist of a dozen books. This is no longer true in most the West. “Large private library” now means tens of thousands of books. At least.
I’m trying to be a writer and add my own expertise to the ever increasing mass of readable fiction. I have a few friends who would insist I am a writer already. This is, of course, true. The trick is to become published and widely known. It is possible. This is why I am doing NaNoWriMo again this year.
There is a reason I don’t read enough. It’s because I’m writing.
